Hong Kong stocks opened slightly lower on Monday, with the Hang Seng Index hovering around 24,800 points.
The benchmark HSI edged down 2 points, or 0.01 percent, to 24,748.
The tech gauge decreased by 0.08 percent to 4,401.
Biotech shares led the gains, with Innovent Biologics (1810) and CSPC Pharmaceutical (1093) lifted 2 percent and 1.5 percent, respectively, marking the best two performers among blue chips.
Tech heavyweights also jumped. Alibaba (9988) and Tencent (0700) both rose 1.3 percent at the open.
Chipmakers delivered mixed performances. Hua Hong Grace Semiconductor (1347) went up 1.2 percent, while Semiconductor Manufacturing International Cooperation (0981) slipped 0.15 percent.
